MVC – Weekly Revelations

Valley Stars Shine Brightly

(St. Louis, MO) – Isiaih Mosley is playing at an historic rate and Rienk Mast has exploded on the scene. While the Missouri Valley Conference is fighting through coronavirus issues its stars continue to shine brightly.

Missouri State’s Mosley is scoring points like few players in Valley history. The sophomore guard recorded back-to-back 29-point performances and is this week’s ‘Player of the Week‘. The twin 29-point performances extend Mosely’s streak of 20-point scoring games to seven.

Over the past ten years, the league’s leading scorer’s streak is tied for the Valley’s third longest such streak. Only Creighton’s Doug McDermott with a ten-game streak, Evansville’s D.J. Balentine (8 games) have produced longer streaks. McDermott also had a seven game streak.

While Mosley was climbing historic ladders, Bradley’s Rienk Mast was emerging in Valley awareness. Mast made his first two collegiate starts and averaged 13.5 points during the Braves two games at Northern Iowa. Mast’s chance to start came as a result of a hand injury to Ari Boya and he is this week’s ‘Newcomer of the Week‘.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
