Arch Madness Preview – Drake and SIU

Announcer Michael Admire

(St. Louis, MO) – Top seeded Drake and Southern Illinois open day two of the Missouri Valley Conference postseason basketball tournament. This Arch Madness preview comes from Drake broadcaster Michael Admire. The enthusiastic Admire can be seen at Drake events wearing an old-school sweater with a large ‘D’ on the front.

We spent time discussing what the Bulldogs have already accomplished and previewed the contest with SIU. Drake was the runaway winner of the regular season title, posting a league mark of 17-3. SIU was 8-12 and are playing in this quarterfinal round by virtue of a thrilling, one-point win over Indiana State.

Admire says league MVC Bennett Stirtz is as steady in real life as he is on the basketball floor. Our complete interview with Drake announcer Michael Admire can be heard at Valley Hoops Insider Podcasts.

More from Arch Madness all weekend long is on the way.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
