Bradley & Drake = Academic Excellence

(St. Louis, MO) – Two Missouri Valley Conference basketball programs have been recognized for academic excellence. Bradley and Drake universities are those two programs. The Brave and Bulldog programs were noted as two of 47 Division 1 basketball teams to receive a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2016-17 season. Drake has made the list twice in the past three years. According to godrakebulldogs.com says four Bulldogs made the MVC’s scholar athlete team, headed by the league’s scholar athlete of the year, Reed Timmer. Other Bulldogs honored by the Valley are Nick McGlynn, Graham Woodward and C.J. Rivers.

Bradley is one of four Illinois institutions and Drake is the only Iowa-based program to be honored.

Two Braves were honored by the MVC. Donte Thomas and Luuk van Bree were both second team Scholar Athlete team.

Playing the point at @UEAthletics_MBB is @EKUHoops transfer Tayshawn Comer. The @ValleyHoops squad opens its season on Tuesday, but we wanted to get to know Comer now. Here is our conversation. #ValleyRunsDeep #NCAAHoops

Graphic from @NateSilver538. As a 'news watcher' this is one of the most fascinating elections to watch. I don't truly like either candidate, so that makes it less exciting, but as a 'news oriented' person, this is incredible theater.
