Breaking News – Bradley’s Childs OUT

Editor: The following is a press release from Bradley’s Jason Veniskey

Junior forward Elijah Childs (Kansas City, Mo.) of the Bradley men’s basketball team reinjured his right hand during Saturday’s game at Northern Iowa and in proactive consultation with the medical team, it has been determined to proceed with surgery.

“We support Elijah and our medical team’s decision to take the necessary steps for his future,” said Bradley head coach Brian Wardle. “Having previously played three games without him this season, we already have that next man-up mentality, which is all a part of this season’s journey.”

A timetable for his return will be established later in the recovery process.

Childs is averaging 14.2 points and 9.1 rebounds in 12 games this season. Bradley posted a 2-1 record in contests without the junior forward in December.

An emotional win for UNI. 36 hours ago, they learned their teammate, one of their leaders, Grace Boffeli, suffered a season-ending ACL tear.
