It was Thamel that broke the story on Friday concerning the ending of Steve Prohm’s head coaching role at Murray.
Miller’s previous stops have included TCU, UNLV, Auburn, New Mexico and Memphis. This will be his first head coaching position. During is twenty-plus coaching career, he has gained a national reputation as an outstanding recruiter.
While at TCU ESPN ranked Ryan Miller as the fourth best recruiter, outside the power conferences.
Miller had been rumored to be one of Director of Athletics Nico Yantko’s possibilities. Dayton assistant James Kane and Auburn assistant Steve Pearl were others.
Kane is a respected former Murray State assistant who recently had received the most famous Racer, Ja Morant’s endorsement. Miller’s brother Mike Miller, ironically is Morant’s agent.

No announcement has been made by Miller, nor the university.
Creighton is 22-9 and plays DePaul tonight in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. During Miller’s first three years in Omaha, the Bluejays had a record of 72-35 with three trips to the NCAA Tournament. Creighton was an Elite Eight team in 2023 and a Sweet Sixteen team last season.
