Calvin Wetzel – HerHoopStats

Teaching Us About the Women’s Game

(St. Louis, MO) – Calvin Wetzel is a basketball junky. He is a women’s basketball junky and we are the beneficiaries! He is a number cruncher and serves the basketball community working for HerHoopStats.com and writing for various other sites.

We are attempting to learn about the women’s game and about the women’s game in the Ohio Valley and Missouri Valley Conferences, so I asked Kelly Burke who I should talk to and she pointed me to Calvin. When I asked MVC Assistant Commissioner Ryan Davis who I could learn from and he said, ‘Calvin Wetzel‘.

As we branch out to cover the women’s side of our two great leagues, check out our stories with Lindenwood’s Amy Eagan and Missouri State’s Beth Cunningham.

Here is our conversation concerning women’s hoops (WNBA and college) and about his work.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
