Career High Performances And Mayo Again!

(St. Louis, MO) – Game winning baskets and career high performances high-light this week’s ‘Twin Valley’ award winners. Ohio Valley and Missouri Valley Conference teams had a successful weekend and league members watched some of their players soar to great heights.

Eastern Kentucky’s Nick Mayo buried his second game-winning shot of the season and recorded his fourth double-double of the campaign. The three-time all OVC forward averaged 20.5 points and nine rebounds during the Colonels’ two victories. His last second shot gave EKU (6-4) a two-point win over regional rival Northern Kentucky and earned Mayo his second ‘Player of the Week‘ award.

EKU has won three straight games.

Skyler Hogan recorded one of many career high performances. His 25-point game in Southeast Missouri’s win over Mississippi Valley State helped him average 19.5 points per game. SEMO split two games and Hogan is this week’s ‘Newcomer of the Week‘.

The 6’5 Embry-Riddle transfer is seventh in OVC in made three-pointers.

Belmont’s Nick Muszynski picked up his second ‘Freshman of the Week‘ award. The 6’11 freshman scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Belmont’s win over Lipscomb. The ‘Battle of the Boulevard’ went down to the wire. The Bruins prevailed 76-74 on freshman Caleb Hollander’s game-winning shot.

Missouri Valley Conference

Sean Lloyd

Sean Lloyd has helped spark Southern Illinois to five straight wins. The 6’5 junior recorded another of those career high performances with 25 points against Southeast Missouri. He nearly recorded a double-double against Saint Louis. Lloyd is this week’s ‘Player of the Week‘.

SIU travels to Murray State on Wednesday.

Evansville’s Shea Feehan recorded two career high performances. The transfer guard registered an Evansville best 21 points on Tuesday and then crushed that mark with 29 points during a Sunday win over Ball State.

Feehan is this week’s ‘Newcomer of the Week‘ while becoming the fifth different Valley player in five weeks to win the award.
