Conor Enright Going With the Flow
Drake Point Guard Doing His Job
(St. Louis, MO) – Drake point guard Conor Enright is going with the flow. In more ways than one, the redshirt sophomore is continuing the legacy of solid point guard play and team-first play from that position.
Drake (12-2, 3-0) is off to another great start and Enright is a big reason for that success. While his numbers don’t jump off the page, Valley watchers know he helps the high-powered Bulldogs in many intangible ways. Enright’s ‘tangibles’ are impressive. He’s averaging 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists. His shooting percentages are through the roof, making over 50% of his shots overall and from deep.
After sitting behind one of Drake’s all-time greats in Roman Penn, Enright know it’s his time to provide leadership to a team built to win.
Enright is happy to facilitate for his highly talented teammates. Tucker DeVries, Atin Wright and others are extremely talented players. Going with the flow of getting the ball to efficient scorers is his role. A recent 18-point performance didn’t change his mind.
How important is Enright to the lineup? When he recently missed a game against UAB, the Bulldogs lost for just the second time this year.
Going With the Flow
Drake is on its way to its sixth straight 20-win season. Coach Darian DeVries has experienced a wildly successful coaching run at Drake and Enright says his head coach is one who truly cares about his players and the details that will help them be successful.
Enright’s shooting numbers are spectacular and the Illinois native says some of that success comes from knowing when and where to shoot. He’s picking his spots and is also willing to point out the abilities of his talented teammates.
Going with the Flow
We of course, had to talk about ‘the mullet’. Enright has become famous for his hair style as much as his play on the floor. The fashion statement came as a bit of an accident and the 6’1 sophomore is just having fun with it.
We also wanted to know what it was like to have long time teammate Garrett Sturtz as a coach.
You can hear our whole conversation with Enright and a conversation with coach DeVries as part of our trial run at a radio show.
Enright is a guy going with the flow and is enjoying his time in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Do Good
