Dancing Norris Brothers

Braden and Keaton Norris are in the Big Dance

(St. Louis, MO) – They’ll be forever known as ‘The Dancing Norris Brothers’. Loyola Chicago’s Braden Norris and Wright State’s Keaton Norris will both be participating in this year’s NCAA Tournament. We wanted to know what life was like for this basketball hungry family and their now shared experiences.

Older brother Braden is a starting guard for Drew Valentine’s Ramblers and Keaton is a freshman contributor for Scott Nagy’s Raiders. Both were coached in high school by their father Brett. After highly successful prep careers, the dancing Norris brothers find themselves competing in March Madness.

They played AAU basketball together, wear the same number and now they’ll play in the same Big Dance. Prior to seedings, brackets, opponents and game preparation, we wanted to celebrate with these dancing Norris brothers.

Automatic Qualifiers

Loyola won the Arch Madness title and Braden and his Rambler teammates are national tournament qualifiers for the second straight time. Ironically, Keaton’s Wright State squad (21-13) held the fourth seed in the Horizon League tournament. That’s the same final position held by the Ramblers (25-7).

Braden’s coach Drew Valentine urged his junior guard to go watch his brother compete in the Horizon League championship game. Keaton tells us playing in the same national tournament is a dream come true.

The Norris family is a basketball family. Both mother and father played the game and Dad, Brett is a highly successful high school coach. Both brothers played for their father at the same Hilliard, Ohio high school.

Comparing their father to their college coaches, each brother said that their father prepared them well for college basketball.

They both wear number four. We had to know why, but Braden says it is really HIS number.

Both Norris brothers are a hair under 6′ tall. Keaton claims to be the taller and faster of the two while Braden insists he is the better looking of the dancing Norris brothers. Each of Brett Norris’ boys are point guards and take pride in leading their teams and helping their teammates get organized enough to be successful.

Our entire conversation can be seen on YouTube and can be heard at Valley Hoops Insider Podcasts. We send our thanks to Wright State’s Nick Phillips and Loyola Chicago’s Bill Behrns for helping us connect with the dancing Norris brothers.

Do Good

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Josh Betts @BettsOnSports

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
