(St. Louis, MO) – Ohio Valley Conference pre-season prognosticators circled this coming week as a week of key match ups. They weren’t wrong, but they didn’t know how important it would be to Southeast Missouri.
The Redhawks have dropped their first two games in OVC play and have dropped five of their last six games. SEMO was the a popular pre-season pick to win the West Division title and they have some very talented players, but have struggled in recent road games and are in danger of a large gap being created between them and top teams in the division.
Belmont (10-6 & 2-0) visits Cape Girardeau on Thursday. The Bruins are tied with Morehead State (11-6 & 2-0) for East Division lead and the Eagles are off until their Saturday date with pre-season division favorite Eastern Kentucky.

The Colonels (10-5 & 1-1) were upset at SIUE and in addition to that tough Saturday match up at Morehead State they host Murray State (7-7 & 2-0) on Wednesday. All the top teams battle it out for early OVC supremacy this week! Capping off the week is a match up of current undefeateds Austin Peay (8-8 & 2-0) and Murray State on Saturday.
