Missouri Valley
Updated – 4 MVC Players are NBA Bound!
(St. Louis, MO) – Two recent Missouri Valley Conference players have earned NBA Summer League contracts. Northern Iowa’s Jeremy ‘Captain’ Morgan and Loyola’s Milton Doyle have signed contracts to compete for and try out with NBA squads.
The two all conference players each worked out for several teams and Morgan was thought to have landed a spot with the NBA champion Golden State Warriors and Doyle picked up an opportunity with the Brooklyn Nets, but now we learn Morgan will be playing with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Morgan, the Valley’s preseason ‘Player of the Year‘ is the third Panther in recent history to receive a summer tryout. Last season Wes Washpun interviewed with the Los Angeles Clippers and two years ago, Seth Tuttle auditioned for the Miami Heat.
UNI’s Twitter feed made the announcement about Morgan joining former teammate Washpun early on Tuesday. http:/

According to loyolaramblers.com, Doyle is the first Rambler invited to the NBA Summer League since Blake Schilb was invited in 2012. Doyle finished fourth in the MVC’s scoring race and Morgan was fifth, as each averaged roughly 15 points per game. While Morgan was second in the Valley in steals, Doyle was third in assists.
Indiana State head coach Greg Lansing tweets that former Sycamore great Jake Odum has signed with Miami.
Congratulations to ol’#13, Jake Odum, playing summer league with the Miami Heat.
