Drew Hanlen – Coaching NBA Players

A Human GPS System for the Stars

(St. Louis, MO) – Who coaches great basketball players to become even better? Drew Hanlen who calls himself a human GPS System for the stars, does just that. Hanlen, who just turned 30 has been running basketball clinics since his teens and training elite level professionals for close to a decade.

The founder of ‘Pure Sweat Basketball‘ was a two-time all-state player for Webster Groves (Missouri), won a state championship and went on to an all-star career at Belmont. He was running clinics for grade school and middle school students then, now he does the same thing for players like Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Kelly Oubre and Joel Embid.

At 5’10 he knew his prospects for the NBA were limited but was determined to carve out a career in basketball. He couldn’t have imagined coaching some of the game’s greatest players.

While Hanlen was an outstanding offensive player prior to his playing days at Webster Groves, he says hall-of-fame coach Jay Blossom didn’t ‘roll out the red carpet’ and taught him invaluable lessons about basketball AND life.

Human GPS System For The Pros

Growing up in St. Louis, he had a natural connection to the Gateway City’s top basketball talent. When approached by Bradley Beal’s family to train their freshman in high school prodigy, Hanlen went to work. Combining Beal’s great natural ability, hard work, support of family and the human GPS System, the rest is history.

Hanlen’s success led to an introductory meeting with another St. Louis player, David Lee. Drew’s ability to help Lee be accountable and learn new things later in his NBA career, propelled him to ‘all-star’ status and an NBA title. Hanlen’s NBA reputation was now cemented.

Coaching the Coaches

Hanlen’s entrepenurial ability coupled with his thirst for basketball knowledge has driven him to expand his impact. He desperately wants to help anyone with a love for the game. Pure Sweat Basketball now coaches players, coaches, trainers and scouts.

Personal coaching by his army of trainers is a national experience. While he continues to train elite level NBA players, his ‘disciples’ are training NBA, college, prep and younger players. His on-line presence is huge. His ‘Virtual Skills School’ is impacting hundreds of players.

Giving back. Adding value. Staying committed. Those are phrases that pour out of this basketball savant. He has more than enough NBA players that want his knowledge, so he is spreading the wealth.

Wide Impact

PureSweatBasketball.com is loaded with information and there is no shortage of available programs. Hanlen who helps support an orphanage in Haiti, also realized that some of his programs might be too pricey for covid-affected families and players so they’ve whacked the price by 75% until the end of the year.

This is what his twitter post looks like.

Just listen to his true desire to ‘give back’!

I reached out to Mr. Hanlen, whom I’ve observed for years because he is what basketball is all about. Opportunities to grow, develop relationships, learning to compete and being about the team. I announced some if his games in high school, know both his prep and college coaches and have interviewed Beal. Their stories are all the same about the hard working human GPS System.

I have no financial insensitive to promote his virtual school, I just believe young players out there could benefit from this product.

An emotional win for UNI. 36 hours ago, they learned their teammate, one of their leaders, Grace Boffeli, suffered a season-ending ACL tear.

Two of her roommates, Maya McDermott and Kayba Laube, combined for 58 points in an historic win. Credit @TommyBirch with great questions.
