(St. Louis, MO) – Saint Louis freshman forward Hasahn French was named the Atlantic 10 Conference’s ‘Co-Rookie of the Week‘. It is the first A-10 weekly nod of French’s career.
In the Billikens’ win at Richmond on Saturday, French tied for team-high honors with 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds, set a career high with three steals and matched his career best with four assists.
French has set a single-season freshman record for blocks in a season with 52. The previous record holder was Melvin Robinson, who had 51 blocked shots as a freshman in 1989-90. The school record for blocked shots in a season across all classes is 73, set by Willie Reed in the 2009-10 season.
For the year, French averages 8.8 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
The Billikens have won five of their last six (and seven of their last nine) and sit at 15-12 overall and 8-6 in the A-10. SLU is in sole possession of fourth place in the league standings. The top four seeds in the A-10 Championship receive a double-bye in the tourney.
