How Do Valley Teams Measure Up?
(St. Louis, MO) – There are probably too many measuring sticks for college basketball teams. But like everybody else, we’ll attempt to evaluate them too. So how do Valley teams measure up? We’re comparing the brand new NCAA Evaluation Tool, KenPom’s rankings and the ‘old school’ RPI.
- Southern Illinois is the only Valley team in the top 100 in all three metrics
- Loyola (KenPom) and Indiana State and Drake (RPI) have top 100 rankings
- Seven total teams rank in the top 200. Valpo, Missouri State & Evansville are the bottom 3
The NET changes often and is a combination of several factors.
“The NCAA Evaluation Tool, which will be known as the NET, relies on game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.” (NCAA.org)
