Is the OVC Expanding? OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche

More (Positive) Changes Coming!

(St. Louis, MO) – Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner Beth DeBauche believes good things are ahead for the 75-year-old league. We sat down during the waning hours of the OVC Basketball Media day.

During our conversation we discussed the league’s three new teams (Lindenwood, Little Rock and Southern Indiana) and a season of transition. The Commissioner was not shy about saying expansion is likely in the OVC’s future.

League television coverage will be done uniquely. Each of the OVC’s ESPN games will be decided by a ‘wild-card’ formation. Teams can play their way on to the four-letter-network.

We discussed the location of the OVC Tournament. It appears that the league tournament will continue to be played in Evansville until at least 2024. However, the tournament could be under-going a change. The Commissioner shared that some ‘on campus’ games could be a part of the tournament in the future.

Please enjoy our conversation with the classy Commissioner Beth DeBauche.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
