Martin and O’Rourke Preview Game 1

Opening Game of Arch Madness

(St. Louis, MO) – Luke Martin and Joey O’Rourke announce games for Southern Illinois and Indiana State. Arch Madness opens on Thursday and the first game is a matchup between those two teams. Martin and O’Rourke all old friends and outstanding broadcasters.

Martin spent several seasons as the Indiana State play-by-play man and now handles those duties for SIU. O’Rourke replaced him in Terre Haute.

We asked them about the Arch Madness showdown. The two teams played just one time this season with the Sycamores overwhelming the Salukis 95-77. Martin and O’Rourke say each team learned valuable lessons in that game. Both teams finished 8-12 in conference play and face one another in the first game of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

The winner faces first place Drake on Friday.

Here is our complete conversation with Luke Martin and Joey O’Rourke.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
