Missouri State’s Rousseau Leaves for ‘Personal Reasons’
(St. Louis, MO) – Missouri State guard Ronnie Rousseau III has stepped away from the Bears’ basketball program for ‘personal reasons’. Missouri State issued a statement prior to MSU’s game with Southern Illinois.
“Ronnie has asked for some time away to deal with some personal things,” coach Paul Lusk said. “I want to make it absolutely clear that he’s done nothing wrong on or off the court, and is in good academic standing. He’s been a joy to coach and work with since the day he joined the program, and he is very much a valuable part of our team. We will embrace him and support him during this time and ask our fans to do the same.”
Rousseau has missed time recently with a minor ankle injury. He was averaging 11.6 points per game prior to the ankle problem.
After the Bears’ 75-67 loss to SIU, head coach Paul Lusk said his chief concern was the welfare of his player, not the team’s need of a good player
