More Austin Peay Madness From Nashville

(St. Louis, MO) – Austin Peay keeps putting the ‘madness’ in Music City Madness. The eighth seeded Governors have, on consecutive days, dispensed with 5th seeded Tennessee Tech and 4th seeded Tennessee State.

Thursday the Governors did the unthinkable. They trailed by 19 points (54-35) with 14:40 left in the game. A John Murry three-pointer gave APSU their first lead of the second half at 69-67 with 24 seconds left. Sophomore Josh Robinson converted on four free throws in the final seconds of the game and Austin Peay won 74-73.

Robinson (St. Mary’s High School) led the Governors (16-17) with 17 points, and all conference forward Chris Horton recorded his 22nd double-double (15 points & 12 rebounds).

Keron DeShields and Tahjere McCall led the Tigers (20-10) with sixteen points. The Tigers came up one point short as DeShields was fouled on a game tiying three point attempt. He was fouled and made two of the three shots.

Head Coach Dave Loos’ team plays top seeded Belmont on Friday.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
