Morehead State Plays 2K

(Morehead, KY) – The Morehead State men’s basketball team will be taking part in the 2018 2K Classic, benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. The Eagles will travel to Connecticut and Syracuse and also participate in the subregional round at Eastern Washington.
The Eagles will battle the UConn Huskies in Storrs, Conn., on Thursday, Nov. 8 and will play in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse on Saturday, Nov. 10. Game times will be announced later. Morehead State played at UConn in 2005-06. MSU has played Syracuse twice, once being in the 1983 NCAA Tournament at Syracuse and the other in 1987-88 at the Carrier Dome as well.
The subregional round will take place at Eastern Washington where the Eagles will take on UMKC (Missouri-Kansas City) on Nov. 16. Eastern Washington and Green Bay will also be in Cheney, Wash. with the subregional championship and consolation games on Nov. 17. MSU played at Eastern Washington in 2016-17 after postponing the game a year due to winter weather travel difficulties.
Iowa and Oregon are also in the 2K Classic with those two teams plus UConn and Syracuse playing at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15-16.
Wounded Warrior Project is the beneficiary of the 2K Classic. With the mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors, WWP is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. Offering a variety of programs and services, WWP is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from the physical to the invisible wounds of war.
The 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project is produced by the Gazelle Group of Princeton, N.J. The Gazelle Group is a sports marketing firm, specializing in event production and management, client representation, and sponsorship consulting.
