Morehead State’s Preston Spradlin @ OVC Media Day

Now are the Eagles the OVC’s Top Dogs?

(Evansville, IN) – Morehead State’s Preston Spradlin led the Eagles to an Ohio Valley Conference title two years ago and to the tournament championship game last year. MSU was tabbed as the OVC’s preseason favorite, so we have a question. Are the Eagles the OVC’s top dogs?

During the league’s media day, Spradlin and guards Mark Freeman and Jake Wolfe met with Valley Hoops Insider’s Harry Schroeder.

Morehead lost defensive player of the year Johni Broome to the transfer portal, but Spradlin has reloaded and has a deep and talented roster. Pre-season all-conference guard Freeman returns to the OVC after a season at Illinois State. The former Eastern Kentucky Colonel has demonstrated the ability to score in bunches.

Wolfe is an elite level defender and one of the league’s best three-point shooters.

Spradlin and his players go into great detail to tell us about their re-formed roster.

The Eagles open the season at Indiana and later in the season play West Virginia and Vanderbilt.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
