NIT Split – Bradley Win & UNI Loss

(Wichita, KS) – Missouri Valley Conference teams split their National Invitation Tournament games. The NIT split sends Bradley to the tournament’s second round and ends Northern Iowa’s season. Bradley defeated North Alabama 71-62 and UNI dropped a 73-63 decision to top-seeded SMU.
Darius Hannah led Bradley with 17 points and six rebounds. Senior Duke Deen set the Bradley record for career three-pointers (263) and topped the 1,300 point level for his Bradley career. Christian Davis finished with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Braves (27-6) reached the 27-win-plateau for the second time since 1960. George Mason is next for the Braves. The date for that game hasn’t been finalized.
Northern Iowa dropped a back-and-forth game with the Mustangs and finishes the season at 20-13. During the season-ending loss, Tre Campbell scored 16 points and Tytan Anderson added fourteen. Anderson grabbed five rebounds giving him exactly 800 for his five-year Panther career.
Anderson’s career saw him score over 1,383 points, 800 rebounds, 220 assists and 149 steals.
SMU ruled the glass grabbing 44 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end.
After the NIT split Drake plays in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday and Illinois State participates in the CIT on Saturday.
