(St. Louis, MO) – The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has released its 2018-19 Men’s All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus. The USBWA has selected All-District Teams since the 1956-57 season, its founding year.

Five schools – Vermont, Hoftstra, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Gonzaga – earned both the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors. Nevada’s Caleb Martin is a repeat District Player of the Year selection.

The USBWA will release its 2018-19 Men’s All-America team on Mon., March 18, aliong with the finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy (National Player of the Year), Wayman Tisdale Award (National Freshman Player of the Year) and the Henry Iba Award (National Coach of the Year).

Ja Morant (Murray State) and Dylan Windler (Belmont) were both named to the District IV team, while Drake’s Nick McGlynn earned his spot in District VI.

Former Missouri Valley Conference coaches Matt Painter (Purdue) and Bruce Weber (Kansas State) were named as their district’s ‘Coach of the Year’. Former MVC player Jordan Caroline (Nevada) earned all district honors. Ironically both of these coaches and this player were previously at Southern Illinois.

An emotional win for UNI. 36 hours ago, they learned their teammate, one of their leaders, Grace Boffeli, suffered a season-ending ACL tear.

Two of her roommates, Maya McDermott and Kayba Laube, combined for 58 points in an historic win. Credit @TommyBirch with great questions.
