OVC Making Noise

images-5(St. Louis, MO) – No it’s not the ‘Big Dance’ but Ohio Valley Conference teams are still playing post season basketball. Murray State hosts Nebraska-Omaha tonight (Monday) in College Insider.com tournament action and Belmont plays in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament tomorrow (Tuesday) at Clemson.

Murray State (19-11) has been off since Wednesday when they edged Missouri State 66 to 63. They entertain Nebraska-Omaha (17-14) at 7 p.m. The Racers’ win over the Bears was just the second CIT win ever for an OVC team.

Clemson (22-12), who edged Illinois Sunday 50-49, welcome the OVC’s East Division champion Belmont (26-9) who has reached the quarterfinals with wins over Green Bay and Robert Morris.

The three post season OVC wins are the most for the league since 2002.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
