Parents Of Prep Stars – Part Two

Walsh & Donald

(St. Louis, MO) – Luke Walsh is heading to Southern Illinois and Sam Donald will play at Bellarmine. Their fathers, Kevin Walsh and Jeremy Donald tell us all about the recruiting process that helped their sons find their college basketball homes.

Walsh played for his father at St. Louis’ Saint John Vianney High School and Donald starred at Columbia High School just accross the Mississippi in Illinois.

During Part One of this interview we talked about their youth basketball backgrounds. While the two played mostly for rival club teams, they also played some tournaments together. Their fathers are good friends and highly involved in St. Louis’ youth basketball programs.

Both fathers speak glowingly about the relationship building done by the college coaching staffs where their sons signed.

NIL  enhancements were not a significant part of either players’ college decision.

Here is part two of our interview of two parents of prep stars.

Walsh is the Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and averaged over 32 points per game. Donald is a 2A all-State performer.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
