Preston Spradlin is Taking Eagles Dancing
Morehead State Qualifies
(St. Louis, MO) – Morehead State is heading to the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Preston Spradlin is taking Eagles dancing. The Eagles (26-8) won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and have qualified for March Madness for the second time in four years.
Spradlin’s team was one of three teams that tied for the OVC regular season title and then won three games in Evansville to punch their ticket to the ‘Big Dance’. Twenty-six wins is a Morehead State single season record and is MSU’s fourth straight twenty-win season.
Eagle fans, staff, players and coaches will be celebrating with a Selection Show party on Sunday night as they find out who they’ll play and where they will play them. Coach Spradlin joined Harry Schroeder to talk about the season, his players and March Madness expectations.

While Spradlin is taking Eagles dancing, his players are very talented. MSU is one of the nation’s top defensive squads, but they can also score. The Eagles averaged over 75 points-per-game and convert over nine triple attempts per contest.
Riley Minix, Jordan Lathon, Kalil Thomas and Drew Thelwell all averaged over ten points per game and each provides a little something different to the Eagle attack. Minix was voted the OVC’s ‘Player of the Year’. Go here and you can watch our conversation with him.
MSU led the OVC in home attendance and is well prepared for playing ‘power conference’ teams. During their non-conference season the Eagles played at Alabama, Purdue, Penn State and lost by one point at Indiana.
Bracketologists predict the Eagles will play either Creighton or Kentucky. Spradlin hopes his team will go dancing close to home.
