Racers Riding The Wave
(St. Louis, MO) – Murray State is one of only ten college basketball teams still playing games. Tuesday then clobbered Pacific 98-75 to reach the Collegeinsider.com Tournament final. The Racers picked up their 22nd win in the process and will host Yale on Thursday for the CIT title.
Freshman star Cameron Payne was the pace setter once again with 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists, but there were three other Racers that reached double figures as T.J. Sapp and Jarvis Williams scored 18 points and Jeffrey Moss added 15.
The Ohio Valley Conference West Division champs are playing their best basketball of the season and last night’s game saw them play with great confidence and team work. All eleven Racers that played scored and the team collected 16 assists and won the rebounding battle 37-30.
Yale (19-13) visits CFSB Center Thursday at 6 pm for the championship. The NIT championship between SMU and Minnesota tips at the same time, while the second game of the CBI championships is played tonight between Sienna and Fresno State.
That other team from Kentucky, the Wildcats is playing in the NCAA’s Final Four on Friday as John Calipari’s team confronts Wisconsin and Florida battles U Conn.
Ten teams are still playing the Racers and Head Coach Steve Prohm are still in the mix.
