Racers’ Steve Prohm @ MVC Media Day

New Look and New Conference

(St. Louis, MO) – Steve Prohm is taking it all in. There’s a a new look and new conference for the Murray State basketball program. As Missouri Valley Conference coaches and players came to St. Louis for the league’s media day there was so much to take in.

St. Louis could become like a second home for Murray State. The Racers will be back in the Gateway City for the season’s opening night game when they face Saint Louis University and will conclude the regular season with Arch Madness.

Coach Prohm sat down with Valley Hoops Insider’s Harry Schroeder to discuss the upcoming season and the make up of his team. The Racers’ rebuilt roster features several Division 1 transfers. Rob Perry (Stetson), Kenny White Junior (Tennessee Tech) and JaCobi Wood (Belmont) bring a veteran presence and proven abilities to this year’s team.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
