Second Day at Coaches V Cancer Tournament

(St. Louis, MO) – Three upsets took place in the opening round of the Coaches vs. Cancer Holiday Tournament at Meramec Community College. Day Two promises to be be spectacular. Four Metro Catholic Conference teams advanced and so did top seeded St. Mary’s, so perhaps the Archbishop Carlson should show up and conduct mass!

There are eight more games today with consolation rounds beginning earlier in the day and the winners bracket tipping off at 3:30. The top seeded Dragons taking on undefeated Lindbergh, followed by CBC’s tilt with Hazelwood Central.

The 6:30 contest features two of those MCC teams, as third seeded Saint Louis University High (8-2) battles the surprising Vianney Golden Griffins (3-4).

At 8:00 pm, second seeded Webster Groves (5-1) takes on another upset first round winner, the tenth seeded DeSmet Spartans (4-3). Vianney turned the trick on 6th seeded Jennings and the Spartans pulled the rug on the seventh seeded Parkway West Longhorns.

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
