Valley – Players of the Week
Mosley and Curtis Making their Marks
(St. Louis, MO) – Samari Curtis has made an immediate impact on the Evansville Purple Aces and sophomore Isiaih Mosley is suddenly a player of the year nominee at Missouri State. Curtis and Mosely are the Missouri Valley Conference’s players of the week.
Back-to-Back Bears
Missouri State has won back-to-back ‘Player of the Week’ awards. Forward Gaige Prim won the final weekly award of 2020 and Mosely just collected the first honor of 2021. During MSU’s first four league games, Mosely averaged 24.5 points while sparking the Bears to a 3-1 start. His 29-point performance Sunday was a career high.
Head coach Dana Ford says Mosley is an ‘alpha dog’ and expects to be the best player on the floor.
Mosely was also the College Sports Madness ‘High Major Player of the Week’
Curtis is Turning Heads
Sophomore Samari Curtis has burst on to the Valley scene. The Evansville wing averaged 14.8 points during Evansville’s first four conference games. His 29-point outburst against Southern Illinois was a career high. After dropping their league opener, the Purple Aces had lost 19 straight conference games. UE has now won three consecutive Valley contests.
The Nebraska transfer is this week’s ‘Newcomer of the Week’. After becoming eligible six games ago, the Aces (5-5) have won four of those six games.
