Voices of the Valley – Semifinal Round

Taking a National Look

(St. Louis, MO) – Voices of the Valley returns for the semifinal day of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. We have spoken almost exclusively with reporters that cover specific teams in our previous shows. Today we shift gears and speak mostly with national and regional broadcasters.

Cardinal broadcaster and Valley play-by-play announcer John Rooney, MVC color analyst Rich Zvosec, CBS Sports Network announcer Brent Stover will all be on hand.

Time permitting Todd Hefferman fo the ‘Southern’ newspaper will join us and talk about Southern Illinois coach Barry Hinson’s late night resignation.

Enjoy!

First a word from our sponsors. So grateful to The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois, Rhymes Heating in Cooling, Rottler Lawn Services, Switch Coffee and The Wendpouire Project.

The gracious John Rooney joined us and talked Valley basketball and Cardinal baseball.

Rich Zvosec twice was a college conference ‘Coach of the year’ (NEC in 1991 and Mid-Con in 2005) and is a major voice on the Valley TV network. We talked Arch Madness, NCAA selections and more.

Todd Hefferman covers Southern Illinois sports for ‘The Southern Newspaper’. We go in depth into the Barry Hinson resignation.

CBS Sports Network’s Brent Stover is in town to call the two semifinal games. He used to work in St. Louis and has both a love for the Valley and a national perspective.

Sunday we will bring you play-by-play man Brendan Wiese (550 KTRS in St. Louis), Kevin Lehman (Valley broadcaster) and Paul Oren prior to the final.

It will be another fun-filled ‘Voices of the Valley’.

Do Good

Playing the point at @UEAthletics_MBB is @EKUHoops transfer Tayshawn Comer. The @ValleyHoops squad opens its season on Tuesday, but we wanted to get to know Comer now. Here is our conversation. #ValleyRunsDeep #NCAAHoops

Graphic from @NateSilver538. As a 'news watcher' this is one of the most fascinating elections to watch. I don't truly like either candidate, so that makes it less exciting, but as a 'news oriented' person, this is incredible theater.
