Wichita State Is Favored

(Chicago, IL) – To no one’s surprise, the Wichita State Shockers were named the favorite to win this year’s Missouri Valley Conference regular season title. The Shockers went to the Final Four and won 30 games last season and seem to be loaded with talent.

Indiana State was picked second, followed by Northern Iowa. The Sycamores return four starters from a year ago, including all conference pick Jake Odum. UNI has won at least 20 games in the last five consecutive seasons.

Missouri State’s super-sophomores were picked to finish fourth followed by Bradley. The Bears return a host of sophomores led by all conference pick Marcus Marshall while Bradley has a senior star in Walt Lemon Junior.

Rounding out the polling finds Evansville at six followed by Illinois State, Southern Illinois, newcomer Loyola and Drake.

We will release the pre-season all conference team later today.

Flooding, lightning strikes, etc. have cost @RacersHoops two home games. Had to play 'neutral site' tonight instead of at home and Wednesday's goes from home to away. Tough break for the Racers, and the whole area has been hit with difficulties. #FatherHarry

Murray State's scheduled home game Wednesday vs. Southern Illinois being moved to Banterra Center in Carbondale. #ValleyHoops

Gigantic game for @BradleyUMBB today in Des Moines. If they have a chance to catch @DrakeBulldogsMB, they have to win today. The Bulldogs can basically win the title today. @BustingBrackets breaks it all down. #FatherHarry https://bit.ly/3EGiVgi

Not rooting for any particular @ValleyHoops, but chaos is always fun. If things break certain ways, after today there could be a six-way tie for fifth place.
